Elke Meulendijks' garden gives her so much inspiration that she must paint. She is in love with the more than hundred-year-old plane trees that have become true muses.

The sun, light, textures, wind, sound, seasons, weather and, of course, colors provide an unprecedented variety of possibilities.

Her work is often referred to as mixed media because she uses so many different types of paint (acrylic, oil and spray paint) that she layers on top of each other. In this way, she subtly creates depth in the work, giving you the feeling that you can step through the painting into her garden and visit Elke for a moment.
