Örn Porsteinsson is an Icelandic sculptor from Reykjavik. The ceramic sculpture Dagur is part of the collection Travel Pieces. Porsteinsson's sculptures have round biomorphic forms reminiscent of the spectacular Icelandic landscape. The artist is also inspired by Icelandic mythology, which is why each of his designs bears the name of a Norse god. In ancient Norse stories, the Dagur the personification of day, a bright and beautiful character who brings daylight to the earth.
