Raku ceramics
Raku is a traditional Japanese firing technique in which ceramics are fired at a high temperature and removed from the kiln still glowing. The hot piece is then placed in sawdust or other combustible material, creating unique smoke patterns, metallic sheen and characteristic effects. Each Raku work is completely unique and reflects the beauty of chance.

Even the packaging exudes affection. The sculpture lies snug in a paper bed full of loving words. Along with a card indicating the sculpture's date of birth.
